Status of CITES Services - Summary

We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with the Central Registry. The Electronic Directory Editor (EDE) is unavailable as a result, and other directory services may be affected as well. We are working to resolve the issue.

The UIUC Wireless network will be unavailable for a short time between 11/23/09 05:30 am and 11/23/09 07:30 am for routine maintenance. Illinois Compass will be unavailable during the regularly scheduled downtime on Wednesday, November 25 from 5:00 am until 9:00 am for maintenance. Users will not be able to log in during this time.

Oracle Calendar will be unavailable on November 19 from 5:30 AM through 7:00 AM. During this time, system patches will be applied. Subscribers will not be able to access their online data.

UPDATE: The maintenance is complete. Oracle Calendar is available to subscribers. Please report any problems with Oracle Calendar to the CITES Help Desk at 244-7000 or consult@illinois.edu.

NetFiles will be down for routine system patching on the morning of Wednesday, November 18th. During this time, users will not be able to log in or access their files. We expect the outage to last about an hour.

The CITES Spam Control quarantine service will be taken briefly offline for system patching on the morning Wednesday, November 18th. During this time, users will not be able to release messages or access the CSC user tools.

UPDATE: CITES Spam Control system patching has been completed, and the service is now available.

The central registry services, which include the Electronic Directory Editor are currently unavailable. Staff are working on the issue.

UPDATE: The central registry services are back to normal operation.

[CLOSED] 11/16/09 09:30 Oracle Calendar Desktop Client Connection Failures

Off campus subscribers may not be able to connect with their Oracle Calendar desktop client software. This does not appear to affect on campus connections. We are working to correct this issue. Meanwhile, subscribers may either use the web interface at http://calendar.uiuc.edu, or use the CITES VPN in conjunction with their desktop client software. Please contact the CITES Help Desk for assistance at 244-7000 or consult@illinois.edu.

UPDATE: The fix has been implemented, and the service has been restarted. Oracle Calendar is available, and the desktop client is able to connect from off campus. Please report any issues with Oracle Calendar to the CITES Help Desk at 244-7000 or consult@illinois.edu.
