      <description>The Nortel vpn has a hard instability.  This is causing the device to occassionally reboot.  We are working with the vendor to resolve as quickly as possible.</description>

      <description>The DNS appliance will be upgraded to a new version on the morning of Monday, Nov 9th, 2009 between 5:30am and 7:00am. The Proteus web interface will be unavailable during this time. DNS queries (DNS service) to the Anycast address 130.126.2.131 will not be affected.

This new version of Proteus will have an updated user interface as well as several bug fixes. Due to the extensive change to the user interface, we are encouraging users to get familiar with the interface prior to go-live. Feel free to try the new version at

      <title>[CLOSED] 10/22/09 00:00 Replacement of Campus Phone Service Facilities</title>

      <description>Earlier this year, CITES reported on the degradation of phone service to the central part of the campus which was due to a buildup of moisture in the cable facilities.  At that time, the focus was on short term solutions to prevent additional impact and restore service to impacted customers as quickly as possible.  Now, the longer term need is being addressed by replacing the affected facilities with cable specifically designed to better withstand moisture.&lt;p&gt;UPDATE: As of Friday, October 30th, the cable replacement is complete.  </description>

      <description>The nortel vpn is having hardware replaced during this window.  There is a possibility for disrupting existing connections or new connections not being able to be established.&lt;p&gt;UPDATE: The hardware was inserted, but the device isn't recognizing the new hardware.  A case is open with the vendor.  The service should be available, but there will most likely be future reboots to restore redundancy</description>

During this time, subscribers will not be able to log in and access their online data. &lt;p&gt;UPDATE: The maintenance is complete, and Oracle Calendar has been restarted.  Subscribers may log in and access their online data.
