[ACTIVE] 03/14/13 16:32 Campus Email Relays: delivery delays

The Campus Email Relays are suffering high daily loads while filtering email and attachments.

This will result in 'connection refused' responses during peak traffic times in the mid-morning to mid-afternoon. This is 'normal' SMTP traffic behavior, but the resultant, typically short, email delays may not be typical user experience.

Resolutions to; add capacity, reduce message loads, reduce the impact of large message processing, and reduce the impact of internal (compromised) spam sources are being researched and will be implemented as soon as possible.UPDATE: Although this situation does appear to be improving, permanent measures are still being implemented. This status message will remain in place while we continue to monitor and address email relay and scanning capacity.

[CLOSED] 05/15/13 17:00 Contacts Manager: service replacement

The Contacts Manager service will be unavailable after 5pm
on 5/15/2013, and will be replaced by a new 'Contacts
Database', which will be available by approximately 7pm,
after data has been migrated between the two.

There will be a window of 1-2 hours where no 'contacts
manager' type service will be available, and after which
most access to the previous service will be unavailable.

After data is migrated the new Contacts Database service
will be brought online and made immediately available. All
valid data and permissions in the old system will be
imported into the new. Due to data divergence, there will
be a 24 hour window after which a 'rollback' to the old
service will no longer be feasible. If you have critical
operations using the Contacts Manager service, please allow
for some time on Thursday, May 16, in order to review the
new system and identify any potential issues as soon as
possible.

This status posting will be updated when migration [...] UPDATE: The 24 hour rollback window has now passed, and Contacts
Database will now be the sole source of contacts data for
CITES.
